Default Preparing For Your Trip to Mexico

If you are looking for a more geographic and cultural diversified country, Mexico is it. There are things to prepare for when visiting Mexico, so starting your preparations ahead of time will help you have a more enjoyable stay.

* Book your accommodations in advance. Factor in your high seasons and hurricane seasons.

* Determine how you will travel to Mexico and make your arrangements in advance. Mexico offers many international and domestic airports all over. Many people do decide to drive to Mexico, although it is not the most cheapest way to go. Understand that you will be subject to certain regulations and inspections if you decide to cross over the border with your car. You will need a valid driver's license, current and original car registration and a copy of your car title. There are other regulations you will need to find out about before you enter with your car.

* All travelers are required to present a present photo ID and proof of citizenship. Things you should have with you are a valid passport, original birth certificate with raised seal, driver's license, naturalization papers, official ID (if you do not carry a driver's license). If your last name is different than that of your original birth certificate, you will need to bring proof of your name change - Marriage certificates work well (no photocopies).

* If you plan on staying longer than 72 hours and go beyond the border tourist zone, you will need a visa as well.

* You may be subject to Mexican Customs inspection

* The currency in Mexico is the peso.

* Receiving change is a problem in Mexico. It is hard to come by smaller bills and coins so try to get as many as you can early on in your trip. It is expected that the customer provides the appropriate change rather than the other way around. Expect this especially in shops and taxis.

* No special vaccinations are required for entry into Mexico.

* Although prescriptions are available in Mexico pharmacies, you will need to bring a copy of your prescription.

Pack plenty of sunscreen for your trip because the sun is very hot. Be prepared for a fun-filled time once you are prepared.

I've been to Mexico several times, in different locations but I haven't traveled far from my destinations. Once I went to a neighboring town, but I didn't realize you may need a visa. I guess the town was still classified as within the tourist zone.

Do you know where you can see the boundaries of the border tourist zone mentioned above?

First of all I would like to say thanks for this outstanding information you shared with us. Well, Mexico is one of the most visited countries worldwide as well as offering many interesting historical sites.
You’ll find plenty of outstanding destinations over there which not to miss like Cancun, Cozumel, The Riviera Maya, Chichen Itza I hope you will enjoy there.
