I've read that São Paulo is the most populated city in South America, full of buildings and a cosmopolitan place.
Can anyone advise me good places to visit there?

Never been there but friends told me that it's pretty similar to New York. Thousands places to visit, shops, nice parks, people rushing...

Would you recommend Sao Paulo or Rio for somewhere traveling to Brazil for the first time? I think it would be fun to go during the Carnivale season in Rio. As far as crime, is Rio or Sao Paulo safer or are they both about the same?
