Default New York is Overrated!

O.K so I really do seem to be the minority on this one but it can't be just me that finds this hyped up city a major dissapointment!

Over priced, dirty, loud and BORING.

I can go shopping in this country thank you very much (and I dont have to try and fit it into a suitcase afterwards)

Go to Oxford Street its much easier/cheaper.

Default What?

Are we talking about the same New York?

My god man what were you doing or should that be not doing?

I have spent several months in this amazing city and found something new and exciting everyday.

People go to New York to experience a rich and diverse culture. There are a wealth of museums, archetechture, theatre and restaurants all mixed with a vibrant night life. Yes there are great shopping districts and they beat Oxford Street hands down.

I agree with Hen007, New York was great. It wasn't friendly, and was hard work but the city has everything, you just need to know where to look.

I have not been to New York, and it is one of the last places to visit on my list. There are so many other beautiful spots in the US I have not yet been to. I don't know why, but I never felt attracted to NY. Perhaps it will change when I get there.

Let me guess Luke... You're from Vancouver, aren't you?

As for New York City, it's been a long time since I was there, but if you find yourself bored there, I'd say you weren't getting out of your room.

I'm sure it's still possible to have a bad experience there, but there are so many cultural things to take in, I can't imagine it being boring.

Boring? How come its boring there when that city does not even seem to sleep at all?

When I was in New York, I enjoyed Central Park and I think I recognized the area from movies.

I also went to Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall and enjoyed some world class music.

Speaking of not boring, when I was on the observation level of Rockefeller Plaza, we were given rain checks because a woman made an attempt to get to the edge of the wall, supposedly to jump.
