The mountains found on Mauritius do not rise to great heights, but they are most unusual in their form. The heightest mountain in Mauritius is Le Piton de la Petite Riviere Noire which is located in the southwest measuring 828 meters, followed in height by he Pieter Both 823 meters which towers over Port Louis. The mountains along the western side of Mauritius are Le Corps de Garde, Le rempart and Les Trois Mamelles. On the southwest tip of Mauritius lies Le Morne Brabant. Although this is not a very high mountain, this mountain quite dramatic with its rocky cliff face dropping away to the low-lying land of le Morne peninsula.
