When to visit France
France is Europe's top travel destination; and that's no wonder. It is such a great country for visiting, with an amazing wealth of tourist attractions historic monuments, castles and museums, attractive towns and cities, and also the most varied landscapes of any country in Europe. Added to that, with the exception of Paris and a few tourist traps, it's not an expensive country, compared to many other parts of Europe. Indeed, parts of rural France and many small towns are really quite cheap.
When to visit ??
The best times of the year are September and October, and May and June. During these months, the weather in France is generally pleasant - not too hot, not too cold - and there are less crowds at the most popular tourist attractions. In tourist areas (i.e. not the big cities), accommodation is cheaper during these "shoulder" months.
The only drawback is that some tourist attractions only open during the peak season, or open for shorter hours or less days per week during the shoulder months. But this is not the case with the main tourist attractions such as the Loire Castles, the great cathedrals, the historic small towns, the famous museums, and other popular places.
