Actually Chapati maji is basically if you take a tortilla and put a thin amount of honey on it. Since chapati is basically a scooping bread eaten with about anything, this version is similar to when a person in the west puts honey on a piece of bread. It's better if they use butter on it but that's not always the case.
Halua (Halwa) is sweeter and more dessert like. The Halua I tried had carrot, condensed milk, rice, almond, raisins, and spices in it but I wasn't sure what else. They typically serve it with a spicy tea or coffee. Since Halwa is also a popular Indian dish, I am thinking a lot of the recipes are similar.
